This year Qualifiers will be taking place on Friday, August 3 beginning at 11 am at the Spence Eccles Olympic Freestyle Pool at Utah Olympic Park (on the same wall as the Finals!). Keep an eye out for when registration goes live by following us on Facebook and Instagram.
All invited Finalists will have access to the Psicobloc wall after Qualifiers. There will be full-height practice routes available. We encourage all athletes to get as much practice on the wall as possible prior to the seeding round on Saturday evening.
The Qualifier and Seeding Rounds are FREE to watch for spectators.
Qualifiers will consist of one male and one female route, with grades of 12+ female and 13+ male. There will not be partial scoring for highest hold, only tops and times will factor in to who moves on. The top four fastest competitors from each gender in the Qualifier will pass through to the “seeding” or practice round with the invited climbers at the Olympic Park pool the next day Saturday, August 4, beginning at 11 am. All participants of the Seeding round will have a guaranteed place in the Psicobloc Finals on that Saturday night from 7 pm to 9:30 pm.
The cost to enter the Psicobloc Qualifiers is $100 + tax and service fees. All participants must be 16 years or older to compete. All minors must have a waiver filled out by a parent or legal guardian.
In addition to entry into the Qualifiers, each participating Qualifier (no-shows will lose these perks!) competitor will receive:
1) Two General Admission tickets to the Psicobloc Finals on Saturday, August 4.
There is a maximum of 50 male and 50 female spots available.
All competitors need to sign both the Psicobloc Waiver and Olympic Park Waiver forms. Competing minors need a parent or legal guardian to fill them out. Waivers need to be signed each year, including for returning competitors. Please have your waivers completed by check-in.
